Job Purpose

The Engineer must be able to plan and manage the system deployments and administration.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage and troubleshoot Oracle database RAC clusters 
    • Oracle database 10g, 11g and 12c installation, commissioning and administration
  • Oracle database administration on both Linux and Windows environments
  • Oracle PL/SQL query writing, reporting and auditing
  • Oracle data guard configuration and administration
  • Oracle database backup (Physical & logical) understanding and administration
  • Redhat enterprise linux administration
  • Unix OS administration
  • Bash & shell scripting on linux for different purposes
  • Good understanding of JAVA & JBOSS based applications
  • Good understanding of Oracle reporting modules
  • Understanding of administration of Vmware and HyperV platforms
  • Microsoft OS/Active directory knowledge and understanding
  • Handle support calls/emails from end users in professional manner
  • Escalate queries/issues to second or third level in accordance with Help Desk escalation processes
  • Coordinate with Principle vendors and customer for problem resolution
  • Provide 24 x 7 Level 1 support for Severity 1 & 2 issues
  • Support after office hours for planned down time/critical issues
  • Complete daily, weekly & Monthly check list
  • Ensure service availability as per the SLA terms of the Customer

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Graduate/Diploma engineer in Electronics/Telecom/IT/computer science or related field

 

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Helpdesk of relevant industry
  • Experience in Linux, Oracle, shell scripting, Vmware

 

Certifications

  • Certified Redhat Linux
  • Oracle database administration 12/18c versions

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Hands on skills on Oracle database administration
  • Should have understaning of Netapp, EMC storage device administration
  • Vmware, HyperV environment implementations and troubleshooting is an added advantage
  • Should be flexible in working long hours under pressure
  • Teamwork, Written, verbal communication & presentation skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Results Driven
