Emirates Electrical Engineering is a specialized business platform that provides comprehensive turnkey solutions combining development, financing, construction and operation of solar rooftops for commercial and industrial building in the UAE, also a responsive and flexible organization dedicated for the design and construction of turnkey electrical power projects such as High Voltage Substations, Cable Networks and Transmission Lines.
Job Purpose
The MEP Divisional Manager will oversee the entire MEP projects division, managing the lifecycle of MEP projects, from design through execution, ensuring profitable, timely, and high-quality project delivery. This role holds full responsibility for the division’s P&L, establishing proper governance for cost and revenue monitoring, resource optimization, and project performance reporting. The MEP Divisional Manager will also play a key role in identifying new MEP opportunities and collaborating with various internal teams and act as a responsible leader in business capture efforts contributing to the growth of the division. The position involves strong engagement with clients and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery and sustainable business growth. The role reports into the Operations Manager of EEE and has the entire project management team of MEP reporting into the role.
Job Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the P&L of the MEP division, ensuring the division’s profitability by implementing strong financial governance.
- Establish robust systems for monitoring costs and revenues on a project-by-project basis to ensure the financial health of the division.
- Deploy optimal resources to various projects, ensuring that teams, materials, and equipment are utilized efficiently to meet project demands and control costs.
- Establish and monitor project performance reporting through techniques such as Earned Value Analysis (EVA) to track progress against budgets, schedules, and contractual commitments.
- Oversee timely review of all ongoing projects, in conjunction with the project management team, ensuring projects remain on track for delivery and profitability.
- Manage project scheduling through Primavera planning tools to ensure milestones are met.
- Identify potential MEP projects by networking with clients, developers, and other stakeholders and bring them to the internal leadership for winning projects.
- Lead discussions on variations and changes with stakeholders, ensuring any changes to the scope or cost are aligned with contractual agreements and do not adversely impact project P&L.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed to their satisfaction and explore potential business opportunities.
- Oversee the MEP Design, planning, execution, and handover of MEP projects in high-rise buildings, villas, malls, and large-scale commercial facilities, ensuring they meet time, cost, and quality benchmarks.
- Ensure the division is fully compliant with local regulations, codes, and standards in the UAE and that all projects align with industry best practices.
- Lead discussions on variations, delays, or contractual matters with stakeholders to protect the division’s interests and ensure the P&L remains healthy.
- Regularly review Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for accuracy, update them as necessary, and monitor project progress against them to avoid budget overruns.
- Lead the preparation and review of BOQs, procurement plans, and ensure materials are procured and delivered in line with project schedules.
- Review project forecasts and expenditure reports to ensure the division meets its financial targets.
- Coordinate with key internal departments such as Admin, Finance, Commercial, Contracts, and Supply Chain, ensuring projects are delivered in alignment with the contractual terms and client expectations.
- Ensure seamless communication and collaboration with the Finance department to monitor project costs, cash flows, and revenue recognition.
- Liaise with the Contracts & Commercial teams to ensure that project risks, variations, and claims are appropriately managed and resolved.
- Work closely with the Supply Chain team to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials, maintaining cost efficiency and avoiding project delays.
- Liaise with the Technical Manager - ESCO to integrate energy-efficient solutions into MEP designs for high-rise buildings, villas, malls, and commercial facilities.
- Ensure energy-saving measures and sustainable technologies are embedded into the design and execution of MEP systems, aligning with the organization’s energy efficiency goals.
- Work closely with the MEP design and engineering teams to ensure the implementation of innovative, cost-saving solutions.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
- Master’s degree in Business Management preferred
- PMI - PMP Certification preferred
Experience
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience in managing MEP projects for residential and commercial towers and industrial buildings.
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience as Divisional Manager role, in managing MEP projects in UAE or any other GCC countries.
- ESCO industrial knowledge is an added advantage.
Knowledge & Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection) for large-scale commercial and residential projects such as high-rise buildings, villas, and malls.
- Strong understanding of P&L management, cost control, project budgeting, and forecasting to ensure divisional profitability.
- Ability to identify potential projects, engage key stakeholders, and bring them to the organization’s leadership for discussion.
- Expertise in project performance tracking tools such as Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and Primavera.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to manage expectations, resolve issues, and foster long-term partnerships.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and manage project teams, ensuring successful execution of projects.
