Job Purpose

Assist inventory controller in managing inventory of certain brands on cost effective manner by analyzing demand requirements, timely placing/maintaining purchase orders. Develop excellent relationship with principal to reduce cost on supplies and vendor services. Responsible to manage inventory, track orders, resolve issues concerning logistic and procurement, etc.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the demand requirement of UD is met in a timely and cost-effective manner by forecasting future inventory requirement based on various analysis
  • Maintain inventory system; facilitate upgrades to relevant database under the direction of the senior operations manager and in consultation with Warehouse Manager
  • Prepare purchase order to ensure it is as per purchase plan, company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures and submit after sales manager approval
  • Review and agree with suppliers to consolidate purchase schedule in order to improve cost on logistic and warehousing, wherever possible
  • Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and ensure good communications all the times
  • Assist inventory controller in improving operational efficiency, aid business performance and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement
  • Daily management and problem-solving of supply and inventory plan variances, including unexpected demand, to ensure appropriate communication and actions with customer service, sales, finance team as appropriate
  • Evaluate slow moving materials and excess inventories and recommend corrective action plans in order to reduce aged stocks. 
  • Comply with the company QMS requirements.
     

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Diploma Degree
  • Vocational certificate in Supply Chain management would be added advantage

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience of procurement and inventory management

Knowledge & Skills

  • Administration and Management:- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Organizing, Planning, and Prioritizing Work:-  Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish team work.
  • Time Management — Managing one's own time and the time of others.
  • Mathematics — Using mathematics to analyze and recommend the solutions
  • Problem Solving:-  identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
