Job Purpose
To manage inventory levels, parts procurement, and supplier coordination to ensure optimal stock availability, cost efficiency, and smooth operations across all outlets. The role is responsible for aligning procurement and inventory with sales forecasts, market demand, and operational needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor and control parts inventory across all warehouses and branches.
- Maintain optimal stock levels to avoid overstocking or shortages.
- Analyze fast-moving and slow-moving parts to improve turnover and reduce holding costs.
- Coordinate inter-branch transfers based on demand and stock status.
- Conduct periodic and annual stock counts with accuracy and compliance
- Plan and execute procurement of parts based on sales forecasts, OEM targets, and customer demand.
Issue purchase orders to suppliers (local & international), ensuring on-time delivery. - Evaluate and negotiate with vendors for best pricing, delivery terms, and payment conditions.
- Track shipment schedules, customs clearance (if applicable), and logistics coordination.
- Maintain strong relationships with OEMs and local vendors.
- Evaluate vendor performance based on delivery, quality, cost, and service.
- Ensure adherence to procurement contracts and resolve supplier issues promptly
- Coordinate with the pricing team to maintain competitive and profitable part prices.
- Support cost-reduction initiatives through alternative sourcing, supplier consolidation, or volume discounts.
- Monitor procurement spending and align with budget constraints.
- Ensure proper use of inventory and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dealer Management System).
- Maintain data accuracy related to stock levels, order status, and lead times.
- Prepare reports on inventory health, procurement KPIs, supplier performance, and financial exposure.
- Drive continuous process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and procurement efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and company procurement policies.
- Minimize risks related to excess inventory, obsolete stock, and supplier dependency.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
- 8–12 years of experience in inventory control and procurement, preferably in the automotive or spare parts industry.
- Experience with ERP systems and warehouse management tools.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of international sourcing, import regulations, and vendor management.
