Emirates Electrical Engineering is a specialized business platform that provides comprehensive turnkey solutions combining development, financing, construction and operation of solar rooftops for commercial and industrial building in the UAE, also a responsive and flexible organization dedicated for the design and construction of turnkey electrical power projects such as High Voltage Substations, Cable Networks and Transmission Lines.
Job Purpose
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading, supervising, and managing all mechanical engineering activities on-site for construction projects. The role ensures that mechanical systems ;including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, and associated services,are executed in accordance with approved designs, project specifications, statutory regulations, and safety standards. The position also involves mentoring site engineers, coordinating with other disciplines, managing subcontractors, and ensuring timely project delivery with high quality and cost efficiency.
Job Responsibilities
Site Leadership & Supervision:
• Lead and supervise mechanical site activities per drawings, specifications, and safety standards
• Manage engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors efficiently
• Oversee HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and related works
• Allocate manpower, materials, and tools effectively
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, and architectural teams
Design & Technical Oversight:
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and method statements
• Provide technical solutions and support value engineering
Testing, Commissioning & Handover:
• Oversee testing and commissioning of systems
• Coordinate inspections with consultants and clients
• Ensure O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and handover documents are complete
Quality & Compliance:
• Implement QA/QC procedures and ensure compliance with regulations (ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA)
• Conduct inspections and resolve non-conformities
Planning & Reporting:
• Prepare schedules, programs, and progress reports
• Monitor productivity, identify risks, and implement mitigation
• Maintain accurate project documentation
Safety & Risk Management:
• Ensure adherence to HSE policies
• Conduct safety briefings and manage risks
Client & Stakeholder Coordination:
• Act as main contact for mechanical works
• Attend meetings and ensure client requirements are met
Job Requirements
Experience:
• 8–12 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with strong exposure to MEP construction projects
• 3–5 years in a senior/lead mechanical site role
• Proven experience in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and building services systems
Skills:
• Leadership & Team Management – Ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors
• Site Execution – Strong hands-on experience in supervision and coordination of mechanical works
• Quality & Compliance – Knowledge of QA/QC processes and industry standards
• Project Coordination – Effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams
• Planning & Scheduling – Ability to manage timelines and track progress
• Problem Solving – Strong technical troubleshooting skills
• Software – Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office; Revit and HVAC tools are an advantage
• Cost Awareness – Focus on material control and cost-efficient execution
Certifications:
Certifications such as LEED or PMP are an advantage but not mandatory
