Job Purpose

Perform/process remittances as per the standard operating procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Batch / Process Transactions received from branches and send to respective banks on timely basis with accuracy
  • Handle queries from banks and branches in a timely manner
  • Retrieve, analyze, record and forward inward messages / reports to intended recipients
  • Send Advise of Demand Draft Issuance to respective banks on timely basis
  • Support branches by acting immediately on special requests (i.e. Special Handling, MT103 Copy, Urgent Query, Processing Clarifications or Assistance, etc.)
  • Reconcile / check processed transactions and inform department head or supervisor of issues or exceptions identified and prepare daily report indicating any discrepancy or exceptions noted
  • Handle incoming telephone calls
  • File completed documents and pack for storage if and when required
  • Coordinate with branches concerned when required for any clarifications or requirements to enable release of specific transaction;
  • Inform / advise branches immediately of any rejected transactions providing specific reason for rejection;
  • Inability to process / release payments for whatever reason should be informed immediately to coordinator or supervisor

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Banking and Commerce stream

 

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience
  • Banking / Remittance experience preferred

 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of MS Windows and MS Office
  • Team player and Customer focused
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently on a variety of responsible clerical tasks
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines\ Knowledge of check and remittance processing
  • Knowledge of the operation of computers equipped with modems and other standard office appliances
  • Good Organization skills
  • Good Coordinating skills
  • Banking / Remittance experience is an added advantage
